Woodinville Girls Basketball blows past Mount Si

The game between the Falcons and Wildcats was never in doubt as Woodinville dominated Mount Si, 66-38, on the Falcons home court Friday, Jan. 7.

Woodinville led 4-2 early in the contest. Senior center Lauren Glazier drained a trey moments later to give the Wildcats their only lead of the game, 5-4. Woodinville closed out the first period on a 12-4 run to make it 16-9 in favor of the home team.

The Falcons pushed the score to 33-15 at the half on the strong offensive play from seniors Veronica Sheffey and Tatum Thompson, who combined for 13 points.

Woodinville edged the visitors from Snoqualmie 17-15 in the third period to take a 50-32 lead into the game’s final eight minutes. The Falcons clamped down on ‘D,’ allowing just six Wildcats points in the period to win going away.

Thompson led all scorers with 22 points. Lacy Eggers added 13. Sheffey and Brooke Beresford finished with 11 each.

Glazier knocked down 12 points for Mount Si. Brianna Griffith pumped in 9.

The win moved Woodinville to 6-0 in KingCo Crown Conference play and 12-0 overall. The Wildcats dropped to 4-2 in conference play and 7-4 overall.
