Redmond-Woodinville Road NE at NE 124th St was closed into the wee hours of Wednesday morning while police investigated a rollover accident that claimed one life.
Public Information Officer Andrea Wolf-Buck with the Redmond Police Department said in a March 24 press release that an unidentified person was killed in the crash just before midnight on Tuesday.
Wolf-Buck said a passer-by reported the incident to police who found an SUV had been driven into a cement wall and rolled over onto its top. Officers arriving on the scene found the sole occupant deceased. No other vehicles or other parties were involved.
According to Wolf-Buck, police are determining the factors that led to the collision. She said investigators believe the driver may have been traveling at a high rate of speed.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the driver. Notification of next of kin is pending.
